When my daughter Lucy was three (in 2015), I asked her to sing me a melody, just to see what she'd do. She came up with this song's melody on the spot, and I put it right into my computer, to show her how it could sound with a beat. Then I added a bit of harmony to show her how it could grow and develop. She loved it and we danced around like silly fools, and it was a special moment for both of us. That night, I stayed up very late, inspired by the experience, and wrote out the solo section, and fleshed out the rest of the song. It's still my favorite musical creation, and reminds me how special she is.
